Hello! This is where I get to talk about myself.

I’ve been a familiar face in San Diego real estate for almost 30 years. I’m the developer who built two stunning homes in Mission Hills, as well as the sleek Cairo condominiums in Hillcrest. I’ve also attracted national attention as the owner and “star personality” at Meshuggah Shack, the quirky coffee bar in Mission Hills.

I’ve made my home in several of San Diego’s historic neighborhoods, and take pride in my knowledge of local architecture and history. Plus, I’ve got a real knack for transforming homes to fit the needs of modern households while retaining their original charm.

My passion and efforts have been recognized by architects, elected leaders and the community at large. The city council recognized me with “John Bertsch Day;” the San Diego Architectural Foundation recognized Meshuggah Shack with a special Orchid Award for bringing new life to a forgotten corner of Mission Hills; and I was awarded “2017 Small Business Owner of the Year” by State Senator Pro-Tem Toni Atkins.
